Jason has performed locally in Dallas with WaterTower Theatre, Outcry Theatre, and Shakespeare Dallas. He has performed with Burning Coal Theatre in North Carolina and with Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre in Virginia. He has appeared in the web series Dominion, as well as in several short films.

With his wife Becca Johnson-Spinos, he has written six play adaptations that have performed at Outcry Youth Theatre: Alice in Wonderland, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Legend of Arthur, The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe, The Great Gatsby, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Solo adaptations include The Time Machine for Outcry Youth Theatre and House of Stairs for Outcry Theatre. Jason wrote book and lyrics for a new musical adaptation of Anne of Green Gables with music by Michael Ramirez.
